11月4日，澎湃新闻（www.thepaper.cn）记者从上述医院获悉，这名患儿小林（化名）自出生起即表现为大角度的斜视，难以向前方注视，严重影响了生活质量。多方辗转求医后，父母带孩子来到了上海儿童医学中心眼科主任刘红的门诊。经过各项眼科检查及影像学检查，刘红确诊小林患有由罕见的先天性多眼外肌缺失引起的复杂斜视。

“斜视是儿童眼科的常见病，患病率为0.8%-6.8%。斜视不仅影响外观，还会影响视功能，导致立体视觉减弱或丧失，无法完成精细动作，行走易摔跤等。此外，斜视还会引起弱视，也可加快近视的进展。”刘红进一步表示，对于斜视，早期识别和早期干预十分重要。在这一疾病的治疗方式上，除传统的斜视手术以外，也开展了A型肉毒毒素眼外肌注射等新型微创斜视手术。
